Adding up to Achievement
What is the equation for educational success?
At CIJE, we recognize that in today's global economy, excellence in the fields of math and science are increasingly important -- and increasingly rare. To encourage day school and yeshiva students to "think outside the box" and to embrace math and science, CIJE has partnered with the Israel Center for Excellence in Education (ICEE) to bring the Excellence 2000 (E2K) program to Jewish day schools in the United States.
Through fun research projects, mind-bending math problems and international competitions, puzzles and challenges, middle- and high- school students participating in the E2K program find themselves engaged and ready to take on further math and science opportunities. With E2K classes, students are encouraged to focus on the process of problem-solving rather than the results. E2K lessons take place in class and also as part of free extra-curricular programs.
Our Excellence 2000 program features close to 150 master teachers as well as the strong support of CIJE liaisons to nurture students' creativity and critical thinking. CIJE invests heavily in teacher training in New York and Israel, and CIJE schools have already successfully competed in prestigious international science contests using the critical skills they honed from the CIJE Excellence 2000 program.
